What is local SEO reporting and why does it matter?
You can’t tell whether local SEO is working from a single ranking or a traffic chart. Map-pack rankings change with where the searcher is standing. Traffic includes people who were never going to buy. What tells you the work is paying off is whether more of the right people are calling and filling in forms.
So that’s where our reports start.
What we track and how
- Calls. Your Google profile uses a tracking number as its primary phone, with your real number listed as the additional phone, so we can count calls from the profile without confusing Google. The website shows your real number to everyone, except visitors who arrive from your Google profile, who see the tracking number.
- Forms. Every form on your site sends the lead to your CRM with the page it came from and the source that brought the visitor.
- Your Google profile link. The website link on your profile is tagged, so Google Analytics can separate profile visits from regular search visits.
- Map rankings. A monthly rank grid for your main searches across your service area, run at the same times each month so the numbers compare fairly.
- Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. The searches you show up for, which pages get clicks and whether Google and Bing have indexed everything.
- AI answers. The same questions asked of ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity each month, with the answers logged.
One report, in plain English
You get one report a month. It leads with calls and leads, then rankings, reviews and AI mentions, then a short list of what we did and what’s next. If something isn’t working, the report says so, along with what we’re changing.

- You get the same report we use for our own business.
- Every number comes from a tool you can log in to yourself. You own the accounts.
- We tell you when something didn't work, and what we're changing.
Tracking & Reporting FAQs
What should a local SEO report include?
Calls and form leads, map rankings across your service area, Google Business Profile activity, reviews and the work done that month. If a report only shows traffic and keyword positions, it's missing the part you care about.
What is a map rank grid?
It's a map of your service area with your Google map-pack position checked at each point. Map rankings change with the searcher's location, so a single ranking number hides most of the picture.
How do you track calls from my Google Business Profile?
We set a tracking number as your profile's primary phone and keep your real number as the additional phone, so Google still matches your real number everywhere. Calls to the tracking number are counted as profile calls.
Will I own my data if I stop working with you?
Yes. Your Google Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile are in your name, and you keep access to all of them.
